Public Transport to and from Ruyton

TRAINS
Glenferrie Station, on the Lilydale, Belgrave and Alamein train lines, is a 15-minute walk from Ruyton. From here, students have convenient access to the Melbourne CBD and the broader Metro Trains network.

TRAMS
Several tram routes operate close to Ruyton, providing convenient connections across Melbourne:

  • Route 16: Melbourne University ↔ Kew – Stop 78 (corner Fitzwilliam St / Glenferrie Rd) Approximately a 5-minute walk from the School. Connects with tram routes 70, 72, 75 and 109.

  • Route 109: Box Hill ↔ Port Melbourne – Stop 36 (corner Glenferrie Rd / Cotham Rd) Approximately a 7-minute walk to Ruyton.

  • Route 48: North Balwyn ↔ Victoria Harbour Docklands – Stop 32 (Kew Junction) Around a 15-minute walk, or transfer to the 109 tram to reach the School.

BUSES

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) school buses

Kinetic Melbourne is one of the largest private bus companies in Australia and holds the government contract to provide bus transport at no cost to students attending schools in the local Kew area. The majority of drop-off and pick-up points are in the immediate vicinity of Ruyton. 

For more information visit Kinetic’s website, Ruyton students should use the Trinity Grammar bus stop located only a short walk away.

In addition, a number of PTV bus routes travel through nearby Kew Junction, just a 15-minute walk or short tram ride from Ruyton.

Key routes include:

  • Route 200: City ↔ Bulleen

  • Route 207: City ↔ Doncaster Shopping Centre

  • Route 609: Kew / Hawthorn ↔ Fairfield – stopping at the corner of Charles St and Cotham Rd, a 10-minute walk from the School

In addition to public transport, Panorama Coaches provides dedicated school bus services for students attending Kew-based independent schools. These secure and reliable services make travelling to and from Ruyton easy for students living outside the City of Boroondara.

- Lower Plenty – Rosanna – Eaglemont – Ivanhoe East
- Bundoora – Watsonia – Heidelberg – Alphington
- Reservoir – Preston – Thornbury – Northcote – Brunswick – Fitzroy North – Clifton Hill
