Art Creative Practice 2D

Why might I be interested in this subject?

By undertaking Art Creative Practice 2D (formally known as Foundation Drawing) you will develop your art making skills using a range of two-dimensional media [drawing, painting and printmaking].

This subject fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Art Creative Practice provides a healthy outlet for emotional expression, boosts confidence, and enhances cultural awareness.

What is this subject about?

Art is a creative pursuit that is fundamental to the human experience. Art is part of our lives and can be a record of beauty, scenes or objects that capture our interest, and individual or an event. Art allows us to represent our experiences, communicate our thoughts, ideas and beliefs.

VCE Art Creative Practice explores the important role of art in different cultures and times. It shows how artists impact society with their unique ideas and traditions. Students learn how artists express their personal and cultural experiences through their work. By studying various artworks, and responding to making their own art works, they are encouraged to think creatively, solve problems, and work both independently and in groups to create meaningful art.
