Musical Theatre - The Triple Threat

What is this subject about?

In this course we will cover the absolute beautiful world of Musical Theatre & give you the confidence to be a Triple Threat performer. 

This course will combine all three of your loves - singing, acting and dancing and integrate them together in the one class.

• The Fundamentals of Acting in Musical Theatre - how we approach the imaginary circumstances of musical acting by working with objectives, obstacles, tactics, relationships, beats and personalisation
• History of Musical Theatre - lets explore this incredible world and look at some of the greats
• Score & Libretto Analysis - we will explore the music, the lyrics and libretto of a musical and teach you how to look at (and listen to) these components of a musical for clues to character development
• The Journey of the Song - you will look at how to reveal the dramatic shape of a song, for character needs, or relationships.
• Dance Styles in Musical Theatre - will look at different dance styles in musicals
• The Industry / Profession - we will provide insights about how to become a professional / be involved in the Ruyton & Trinity productions musical theatre actor. We also see a Professional Musical being performed.
• Making It a Performance - we will take you from the classroom to the stage, building a performance step by step from staging and use of gesture, through exploring musical theatre phrasing and into the full rehearsal process.
