Year 10 History
What is this subject about?
In Year 10 History students consider the development of the modern world and Australia’s place in this global context.
Students explore this critical period of social, political, economic, and cultural development including:
- The causes of World War II (1939–1945) from the impacts of WWI Peace Treaties or the role of key leaders and ideologies.
- The course of World War II (1939–1945), focussing on the European and Asia-Pacific theatres of the war.
- The movement for rights and freedoms for Australia’s First Nations Peoples, and the methodologies used by activists to enact change.
These concepts will be explored through the following depth studies:
- World War II: Asia Pacific (1939-1945)
- World War II: Europe (1939-1945)
- Building Modern Australia (1945-Present)
How will I demonstrate my learning?
